So John Read is making more announcements about new changes to the home office and sentencing and how things are now going to get better!
Forgive me for asking Mr Blair; but have you not been in power for over 7 years and is this not the 4th/5th/6th (I’ve lost count) incumbent at the home office and still we wait for the improvements to appear.
I understand that there might not be too many capable people amongst all the Labour MP’s that could do the job. But if it has taken you ‘N attempts’ to find the right person – this of course is still to be proven – then, does this not call into question your judgment in people and your ability to find the right person for the job.
I suspect that you are glad that you don’t work in industry as I am sure that the company that you were running would by now have gone out of business if you had made the same hiring decision! Or, perhaps you would have lost your MD/CEO job, as the main board would have pushed you out by now, but of course that doesn’t happen in politics does it?
