Yes it finally arrived! Yes its the new Royal Mail easy to understand guide to the UK new postal prices to be introduced on the 21st August 2006.
I wish that I had managed to get the contract to sell this idea to the Royal Mail, whoever did, must have made a huge amount of money. I cannot understand why they need to introduce such a complex system for posting items. I am sure that this is going to cause a massive amount of confusion before, on the day and for many days afterward, particularly around Christmas time.
Yes ‘I’ understand the need for some of the ideas behind the changes, however, I can only think that this will cause many people (particularly the elderly) to stop sending letters if we now have to put each letter through the cardboard template just to determine what we should pay for postage.
I think in the end, that this new idea may well go the way of many other bright ideas thought up by marketing types, without them actually being users of the services to be changed.
